Hello Humans! My name is Melanie and over the course of five years, I've been the creator behind “TheShadyHipster”. I’m originally from Annapolis, Maryland, but my new home in Goodyear, Arizona. I have 10 years of combined Photography experience and knowledge from being self-taught and working towards my General Arts degree. My passion for cinematic photography & videography comes out with my love for wanting to capture community and connection. I’ve always pushed my work to be diverse, lively, positive, and colorful - just like how life should be seen.

For years creating wonderful experiences for my friends and family has been the root of how I want veteran and future clients of mine to feel. Like they’re not a number but getting to express their style and tell a story about themselves. Community both on/offline is another core foundation of who I am and my brand. I have vast knowledge and experience with nurturing communities online through social media. I've assisted with social media, and team-building with the Desert Passion Photography collective, and in turn, found my other love for communications. During that time, I learned about business, branding, and creating a complete experience for people.

Here are some facts to know about me: I love hiking, the outdoors, and exploring new places. It’s my substitute for when I’m not feeling like being inside or working out at the gym. I’m both a cat and dog lover - they help me get the creative juices flowing with their company when doing errands or work at home on the computer. I'M A HUGE COFFEE NERD and Star Wars/Marvel fanatic. Plus, Coffee is basically my second love language! And if I’m not hibernating, editing, or creating funny content to post on Instagram or YouTube, I enjoy hanging out with friends or other creatives when I’m in a socializing mood!
